Our Monthly Internet Crushes

Instead of giving you a long, long list of blogs we read, we wanted to be more thoughtful and give you a few really awesome ones to enjoy for each month, along with a little description of each. (All of these photos were taken from the blogs mentioned.) Here are January's internet crushes:
Lox Papers
If this little collage makes you think a snowy day never sounded so festive or looked so good, then you should pop on over to Lox Papers every day. It's no wonder that Lox Papers always looks impeccable since it's the product of graphic designer Jane Lilly Warren. We're excited to see what else she has up her sleeve as co-founder and creative director of Matchbook Magazine, which launches this very month.

Simple Lovely
Whether she's posting photos of her gorgeous home, updating us on her perfectly adorable little girlies, giving us outfit inspiration, or sharing her current loves, we're always captivated. Is it any wonder we have a giant girl crush on Joslyn? Since we probably won't be invited to one of her lovely dinner parties any time soon, we'll have to be content with just reading about them for now.

Design Mom
Gabrielle is a designer and mom to six kids. She's endlessly inspiring whether you have children or not (we both started reading her blog before we were even thinking of getting pregnant) and you can just tell that she's a warm and sparkly person (after meeting her at a conference, Elisabeth can confirm that's the case). Plus, her family does the kinds of things that we all secretly wish we could do, like moving to France for a year on a whim.

November!

Sweet Paul
We'd imagine you're already in love with Paul Lowe (aka Sweet Paul)'s impeccable styling, recipes, and crafts that he features on his blog and in his magazine. However, we thought we'd take this opportunity to reiterate our love for his work and encourage you to check him out. We absolutely guarantee you'll come away inspired and happier after a ten minute perusal of his work.

The Purl Bee
For those of us who like to make things, The Purl Bee is an invaluable resource. Whenever holidays, weddings, or new babies come around, it's the first place I turn for inspiration (and guidance). If you're planning a handmade holiday this year, keep this blog bookmarked!
All the Mountains
One of the gorgeous blogs by Aussie illustrator & designer Amy Borrell, all the mountains is quickly becoming my go-to inspiration source. This is a perfectly curated blog. Words do not suffice--you must go. Now.  (image by Roland Bello)

The Impossible Cool
This collection of images makes me nostalgic for anything and everything. Its name says it all--the folks featured here are impossibly cool; and coolness may be the only thing they have in common besides fame.
Sunday Suppers
I think it's no surprise when I tell you that we both love to eat fresh, local food, and that we both love beautiful photography and get-togethers with thoughtful details. It should be no surprise, then, when I tell you that we adore Sunday Suppers. Karen Mordechai, the powerhouse behind it all, has a keen eye for detail and always leaves us inspired (and hungry).

October!

Color Me Katie
Y'all, Katie is adorable.  You may know her from the Valentine's Day flip book that was all around the interwebs last February, but if that's all you know her from, you should take some time to dive in to her blog.
I Go by Katie
I know, two Katies this month.  This one is a one-woman whirlwind of activity; she makes moccasins and belts, and she takes amaaaazing photos.  And her blog is a great source of inspiration.  Go. Now.

Darling Dexter
Speaking of whirlwinds of activity, Darling Dexter is written (curated would really be a more apt verb here) by Whitney Deal, who is trained as a graphic designer, has a photography business with her husband, and also has a fashion line.  If you would imagine the three interests being roads, she posts right at the intersection.  I love this blog.
Elephantine
Rachel designs jewelry that is drool-worthy, and her blog is simple, clean, and beautiful. I feel like I'm super-in-the-know about Etsy, but Rachel always comes up with awesome stuff that I've never seen before.
Sweet Fine Day
Jenna of Whimsy and Spice fame blogs about family life in New York--she has a keen eye for photography, is a stellar designer, and her kids are about the cutest things I've ever seen.  She came across my radar a few weeks ago, and now I can't get enough.
